Second Day, Second Test — Namibia Women and USA Women Meet After Friday's Openers
Both Namibia Women and United States Women play on the opening day of the Women's Victoria T20 Series, and both are back at Entebbe Cricket Oval the next morning to face each other. Back-to-back days ask questions of squad depth and recovery as much as skill. Whichever side learns faster from Friday is likely to have the edge.
The contest
Namibia open against the hosts Uganda on Friday; USA open against Rwanda later the same day. So by Saturday morning both sides will have one game in Entebbe behind them, and a sense of how the surface plays and how quickly the outfield runs. That knowledge counts for a lot in a short series on a ground most visiting players do not see often.
Namibia's women's programme has been one of the steadiest risers among associate nations, with a disciplined bowling attack and plenty of experience against African opposition. USA, led in the Easter Women's T20 Cup at this same ground in April by Aditiba Chudasama, already have recent experience of Entebbe, which could be useful here. Both sides may rotate a little to manage back-to-back days, so the XIs may differ from Friday's.
The verdict
This looks like the most evenly balanced game of the second day. Namibia may have the more settled bowling unit; USA have the benefit of having played at Entebbe this year. A morning start could give the seamers early help, so the toss might matter. Whichever side handles the first six overs better with the bat could well win it.
