Malaysia vs China: Syed Aziz Takes 4 for 8, China Are Bowled Out for 60, and Malaysia Qualify
Malaysia chose to bowl and Syed Aziz had China 4 for 3 before the third over was done. China batted out their twenty overs for 60 all out, 14 of them extras, and Malaysia chased it in 7.2 overs. A six-wicket win on the final league day secures third place and a spot in the 2027 T20 World Cup Asia Regional Final.
The morning game at the Bayuemas Oval on Wednesday lasted 27.2 overs, and the question of who would take the third qualifying place from Qualifier B was settled inside the first three of them. Malaysia chose to bowl, Syed Aziz took three wickets in his first two overs, and China were 4 for 3. They batted out their full twenty overs for 60 all out — 14 of those runs were extras — and Malaysia, who lost two early wickets of their own, got there in 7.2 overs.
Malaysia won by 6 wickets with 76 balls remaining. Syed Aziz, 4-1-8-4, was Player of the Match. Malaysia finish third on six points and go through to the 2027 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Regional Final; China finish the tournament without a win.

Syed Aziz bowled Du Jianhao with the fourth ball of the match and had Yang Wangjie lbw two balls later: China were 1 for 2 after one over. In his second over he had Shenjian Zheng caught by Aslam Khan, and at 4 for 3 after 2.4 overs the innings had, in effect, become an exercise in survival. Zong Yuechao was bowled by Aziz too, 13 for 4 in the fifth over, and that was the fourth of them. The final figures — 4-1-8-4, eight runs from twenty-four balls with a maiden among them — were the match.
What followed was slower and, in its way, more creditable. Du Jianyao retired hurt on 13 at 31 for 5, came back, and finished 14 not out from 38 balls — the only Chinese batter to reach double figures, and the most stubborn thing anyone did all morning. Azri Azhar had Tian Sen Qun lbw and Zhao Zhilong caught behind by Nazmus Sakib; Virandeep Singh, the tournament's leading wicket-taker, bowled Ma Qiancheng for his eleventh of the week. Then the twentieth over took three wickets, at 59, 59 and 60, and all three were run-outs: Chen Zhuo Yue, Deng Jinqi and Yao Junting, with Nazmus Sakib involved in two of them. Fourteen of China's 60 were extras, almost a quarter of the total; no Malaysian bowler conceded more than three an over.
There is a particular quiet about a 60 all out that has taken the full twenty overs. It is not a collapse. It is a side refusing to be dismissed early and being dismissed anyway, one careful single at a time.
A target of 61 does not usually leave room for nerves, but Malaysia found a little. Ma Qiancheng bowled Syed Aziz for 2 in the first over and Tian Sen Qun bowled Virandeep Singh for 1 in the second: 6 for 2. Aslam Khan then hit three sixes and a four in 27 from 15 balls, adding 31 for the third wicket with Nazmus Sakib before Ma Qiancheng had him caught by Du Jianhao at 37 for 3. Azri Azhar was bowled by Yao Junting for 1 in the next over, 38 for 4, and from there Nazmus Sakib — four fours in 20 not out from 11 — and Muhammad Amir, 11 not out with a six, finished it in the eighth over.
Ma Qiancheng's 3-0-21-2 was China's best return of the day, and the strikes by Tian Sen Qun and Yao Junting meant their bowlers at least left a mark on a scorecard that otherwise belonged entirely to Malaysia. Four wickets lost in a 61-run chase is untidy; with 76 balls to spare, it is also irrelevant.

What It Means for the Table
Qualifier B is done. Saudi Arabia finish top on ten points, five wins from five; Hong Kong are second on seven; Malaysia third on six. Those three go through to the 2027 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Regional Final. Singapore (four), Maldives (three) and China (none) are out.
For Malaysia, this was the win they had to have on the final day, and they made it look like a formality by the third over. Virandeep Singh finishes as the tournament's leading wicket-taker with 11; Abdul Waheed of Saudi Arabia was its top run-scorer with 189. For China, five defeats from five. The 60 here is a hard number to look at, but they batted out the overs for it, and Du Jianyao's return after retiring hurt is the kind of detail a developing side should keep.
