Myanmar Beat Mongolia by 9 Wickets — Mongolia 56 All Out, and a First Win Arrives on the Last Morning
Myanmar chose to field at the YSD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi. Mongolia lost both openers without a run on the board, were 16 for 5 in the tenth over and 56 all out in the 17th, Luwsanzundui Erdenebulgan's 26 the only score above seven. Paing Danu took 3 for 16 and then hit four fours in an unbeaten 22, and Myanmar were home in 5.2 overs with 88 balls to spare.
The first 14 balls at the YSD-UKM Cricket Oval told you most of what the next hundred would confirm. Namsrai Bat-yalalt was lbw to Pyae Phyo Wai in the second over, Gandemberel Ganbold was bowled by Ko Ko Lin Thu in the third, neither had scored, and Mongolia were 0 for 2. They were 16 for 5 in the tenth over and 56 all out in the 17th. Luwsanzundui Erdenebulgan made 26 of those from 22 balls; nobody else passed seven.
Myanmar needed 32 balls. Pyae Phyo Wai hit three fours in 18 from 11, Paing Danu four fours in an unbeaten 22, Ko Ko Lin Thu two more in 9 from 4, and Myanmar won by 9 wickets, with 88 balls remaining. It was their first win of Qualifier A, in their last match of it.

Pyae Phyo Wai's figures were 4-2-5-1, and they undersell him. He bowled two maidens in a four-over spell that cost five, trapped Namsrai Bat-yalalt lbw to start the collapse, ran out Bilegdemberel Munkhdelger with Ye Naing Tun, and took three catches, Temuulen Amarmend, Bayarjargal Batbayr and Bayanbuu Jargaltuya all picking him out off Nyein Cham Soe and Paing Danu. Then he opened the batting and hit three fours in 18 from 11 balls. A hand in five dismissals, an economy rate of 1.25 and a strike rate above 160: a morning's work that no single column of the scorecard can hold.
Ko Ko Lin Thu's new-ball spell was 4-1-7-2, Ganbold and Uugan-Erdene Batjargal both bowled, and Mongolia were 4 for 3 after 3.1 overs. Between them the two opening bowlers sent down eight overs, three of them maidens, for 12 runs. Paing Danu and Nyein Cham Soe then shared the last six wickets. Danu had Sodbileg Gantulga caught by Htet Lin Oo, then Jargaltuya and Tumursukh Turmunkh in the same over as the tail went, for 3 for 16; Nyein Cham Soe took Amarmend, Batbayr and finally Erdenebulgan, caught by Khin Aye, for 3 for 17 from 2.4 overs.
The chase was brisk and untroubled. Pyae Phyo Wai and Paing Danu put on 42 in four overs before Pyae Phyo Wai was caught by Erdenebulgan off Gantulga, the only wicket Mongolia took. Ko Ko Lin Thu hit two fours in his four balls, Danu kept finding the rope, and Mongolia's bowlers conceded 11 extras in 32 deliveries, nearly a fifth of what Myanmar needed. The 60 came at 11.25 an over.
It is hard to build an innings from 0 for 2, and harder still from 16 for 5, which is where Mongolia stood in the tenth over. Munkhdelger had used 23 balls for 7 before he was run out, Gantulga 16 for 4, and there was no platform to speak of. Erdenebulgan then played the one innings of substance: 26 from 22, with the only four and the only six the scorecard records for Mongolia. The largest partnership of the innings was 16, for the sixth wicket, and from 32 for 6 the last five wickets went for 24.
Defending 56 is less a task than a formality, and Mongolia's bowlers lasted 32 balls. Gantulga's one over cost nine and brought the wicket of Pyae Phyo Wai; Erdenebulgan, having carried the batting, conceded 24 from 2.2 overs with the ball. Mongolia finish the tournament without a win, on one point. There was application in parts, Munkhdelger's 23 balls and Erdenebulgan's counter-attack among them, but at this level 56 does not give an attack anything to work with.
Myanmar chose to field, and the scorecard offers two innings that barely seem to belong to the same morning: Mongolia scored at 3.36 an over for 16.4 overs, Myanmar at 11.25 for 5.2. Four of Mongolia's wickets were bowled or lbw and five were caught, which points to a side beaten by the bowling rather than the surface; nine fours in 32 balls from Myanmar's top three say the pitch was not the obstacle. On this evidence, the difference was the quality of the new-ball bowling and what it did to the rest of the innings.
Paing Danu's three wickets came as the innings fell apart: Gantulga, who had hung around for 16 balls, then Jargaltuya and Turmunkh in the same over as the tail folded, 3 for 16 from his four. Then he walked out at the top of the order and hit four fours in 22 not out from 17 balls, Myanmar's top score. Pyae Phyo Wai had a claim of his own, but Danu's was the day with runs and wickets in the same column, and there is something fitting in Myanmar's one win of the week being settled by a player who did both halves of the job.

What It Means for the Table
This was the last league match for both sides, and neither had anything left to play for but a result. Myanmar's two points lift them to sixth in the final Qualifier A table, above Mongolia, who finish seventh on one point without a win. Both are eliminated.
Above them, the three qualifying places went to Kuwait, top on ten points with a net run rate of +5.775, Bahrain, second on ten, and Qatar, third on nine. Those three progress to the 2027 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Regional Final. Thailand finished fourth on six and Bhutan fifth on four.
