Shahzeb Afridi and Zeeshan Haider put on 67 in 34 balls, Afridi's share 45 from 21 with six fours and two sixes before Battulga Tamjidsuren had him lbw in the sixth over. Akshay Shankar's 14 was a pause rather than a stand, caught by Bayarjargal Batbayr off Munkhsuld Erdenebat at 86 for 2 in the ninth. Then Haider and Muhammad Asim added 125 in 50 balls, and the innings changed gear entirely. Asim, Player of the Match a day earlier for his 4 for 6 against Bhutan, hit nine fours and a six in 58 not out from 25. Haider, who had been 12 not out in that game, went to 79 from 41 with six fours and four sixes before Gandemberel Ganbold and Luwsanzundui Erdenebulgan combined to run him out.
Mongolia used eight bowlers. Tamjidsuren's four overs for 34 were the most economical of the two who bowled a full allocation, and Erdenebat took a wicket in his only over. Sodbileg Gantulga's four cost 53, and 15 extras did not help. It was a hard afternoon, and there is no need to make it harder in print. The scorecard records no reason for the stoppage, and we will not guess at one.

What the Shared Point Means
Qatar move to seven points from five games, third behind Kuwait and Bahrain, who have ten apiece. Thailand and Bhutan, on four from five, each have one match left and can reach six at most, so Qatar cannot be caught for third on points. The point Qatar took here is worth more than it looks, even if 211 for 3 deserved a result.
For Mongolia it is a first point of the tournament, lifting them above Myanmar into sixth. A no result leaves net run rate untouched, and after an innings like Qatar's, that is no small thing.
